Liverpool vs Wolves

Another good win from Liverpool puts them up to 6th in the Premier League table . It was the fourth meeting between the two sides in the last 53 days meaning the setting seemed quite familiar. Hopefully Liverpool could avoid the 3-0 thrashing they got last time.

An unexciting first half saw the two best oppurtunities fall to Harvey Elliot. First there was a header from a Nunez cross and then from the edge of the box once again set up by Nunez. Liverpool thought they had the breakthrough but Nunez’s goal was disallowed because of a foul from Jota. The Liverpool fans didn’t have to wait much longer though when Virgil Van Dijk headed home a rebound from an inswinging Trent cross. 4 minutes later its 2-0 after Mo Salah tapped in a cross from Tsimikas, who made a great run down the left side.

The result moves Liverpool to sixth who are still looking for top 4 football next season and all is still to play for with 14 games remaining.
