Kicking off our first Player of the Week award is the superb Stefan Bajcetic for his strong performance against Chelsea in the Premier League.
Bajcetic made his first full Prem debut, seeing through 82 minutes of the game showing his level headedness and maturity after picking up a yellow card at the end of the first half. We love the energy he brings into a midfield that badly needs to find its form and his willingness to get stuck in. Whilst a little raw at times Stefan seems to be another fine academy product and another example of The Boss being unafraid to promote youth talent into the side.
SkySports data showed that Stefan had 39 touches, 28 passes and achieved a 78.6% pass accuracy – for such a young player we think this was a great afternoons work in a tough match.
With his appeareance, Bajcetic became the youngest player to start a Premier game for LFC (since Ben Woodburn) and the youngest Spanish player of any Premier League side since Fabregas.
We haven’t seen a Liverpool shirt with a number 43 in the local park or playing fields yet but we don’t think it will be long before we do!
